Who we are
Blessed Hands Women Group was established in June 2023 and currently consists of 15 active women members under the age of 35 from the same community. The group was formed through Saliamo Agri-Ventures, a women-led enterprise focused on vegetable production and value addition.
The organization was founded with the goal of fostering personal, social, and economic growth among young women while encouraging them to embrace farming and entrepreneurship as pathways to sustainable livelihoods.
Despite many members being college and university graduates, access to formal employment opportunities remained limited. This inspired the formation of a supportive women’s group focused on agriculture, table banking, mentorship, and economic empowerment.
Today, Blessed Hands Women Group continues to create opportunities for women to become financially independent, socially empowered, and active contributors to community development.
Our story
Blessed Hands Women Group was born from a shared vision among young women who recognized the untapped potential within their community. Although many families owned large parcels of land, young women were often not actively engaged in agriculture or income-generating activities.
Through unity and collaboration, the members came together to change this narrative by creating a platform that supports farming, agribusiness, savings, table banking, mentorship, and entrepreneurship.
The group started with agricultural projects focused on vegetable farming and has since expanded into fruit seedling projects, environmental conservation initiatives, and social empowerment programs.
With support from development partners such as Spirit in Action, the group has continued to grow its impact and strengthen its ability to support women and vulnerable community members.
Blessed Hands Women Group believes that empowered women are key drivers of sustainable development, economic resilience, and social transformation.
